What happens on the day?
10.00am
Meet the crew at Ocean Village Marina, Southampton (outside Banana Wharf bar/restaurant). Then make way to the 40’ Sunseeker Powerboat.
10.15am
Settle on board with a full safety briefing from the skipper and crew. Then at a steady 6 Knots leave the marina, taking in the sights of the QM2 dock and other cruise ships on their docks, whilst at this speed the crew can go through basic navigation eg rules of the road, direction of buoys, use of the Garmin touch screen plotter and answer any questions.
10.45am
On reaching the end of the speed limit area, the throttles are opened - with a speed of up to 36 knots and feeling the power of this exciting vessel, the skipper will then demonstrate what she can do!
11.15am
Once conditions allow, you will get a turn at the helm, steering a course via basic use of the plotter and skipper instruction to the Isle of Wight through the open waters of the Solent. On reaching the mouth of the River Medina we will slow back to 6 knots and travel upstream taking in the sights of both East and West Cowes, home of the world famous sailing regatta.
12.00pm
Then it’s back down to the open water again and time to steer a course back to Southampton, with the chance once again to open the throttles for more thrills and power boating at optimum speed! If time allows, we can have a go at our always very popular ‘man overboard’ procedures (with a prop, not a guest).
1.00pm
Arrive back at Ocean Village Marina, fully exhilarated and hoping it will be your lottery numbers that will come up next!

3 hours 10.00am - 1.00pm or 2.00pm -5.00pm
Are spectators allowed?
Spectators are welcome to wave you off from the marina. They can then visit West Quay Shopping Mall (half a mile away), or any of the numerous bars and restaurants in and around the Marina . Please feel free to ask the Skipper for advice
What should I wear?
Dress warmly and bring waterproofs. There is a high wind-chill factor aboard the boat. Wear flat, non-slip shoes (eg trainers or deck shoes).
Restrictions
Maximum weight is 16 stone
Children are welcome but the minimum age is 10. This experience is not suitable for anyone with a serious back or heart complaint or for pregnant women.
Is this activity weather dependent?
Inclement weather cancellation is at the Skippers discretion and up to 24 hour notification will be given by telephone, another date will be arranged. Please note, this is for safety reasons and not up for discussion.

The rate of £239.00 per person is for a Saturday or Sunday booking only.
Group bookings of 8 people are valid Monday through to Sunday.
