The Thames Treasure Hunt is an active team-building event designed to thrill and stretch your group whilst having fun. Based on board a Thames sailing barge, teams compete against each other to solve riddles and break codes to find the hidden “treasure�. What happens on the day?
The action takes place on the Thames, between the Pool of London and the Millennium Dome. Teams are armed with question sheets, Polaroid cameras, books, charts, walkie-talkies and a whole plethora of aids to help them solve the clues based around various shore-based locations and the ship itself. Clues may be visual, historical, anecdotal, technical, cunning, cryptic and humorous - but each is essential to guide the teams to the next location. The final time-gate is the opening of Tower Bridge at the end of the day. Successful completion of the day will depend on teamwork, keen observation, lateral thinking and one or two quick runners!
The group is divided into teams of up to 12 which will include a “Ship Party� and a “Shore Party� although team members can interchange their roles throughout the day. The Ship Party will be responsible for communications and providing reference to the Shore Party who will need to collect information and objects, take photographs, find “mystery men� and scavenge for items to take back to the ship. Adding to the fun, bonus points are awarded for a wide range of activities from shanty-singing to nautical translations, special clue-solving, scavenger-hunting and the most complete maps.

What should I wear?
Casual dress and flat-soled shoes please. Wrap up warm in winter and bring extra layers even in summer as it can sometimes get cold on deck.
Restrictions
None, however, as our events are aboard historic ships the vessels do not all have disabled facilities, however we will do everything we can to follow current legislation and endeavour to maximise access wherever possible.
Is this activity weather dependent?
In the unlikely event of extremely bad weather (if the skipper decides not to sail) we will re-schedule the event.

Group Details
No minimum numbers but you must charter the entire vessel; maximum 40 guests (or more on several barges).
Insurance Details
Topsail Events & Charters Ltd carries products and/or public liability insurance limited up to £5,000,000 for any one accident and in all. The various charter vessels have different levels of limitation to their liability insurance, further information on this is available on request.
